In Mighty Oaks we have adapted our curriculum to provide the best foundation for success in the next stage of education and beyond, all while maintaining a relaxed and supportive environment that promotes a smooth transition to school. Our Mighty Oaks children look forward to daily guided drawing sessions, an independent phonics programme, as well as an introduction to maths and technology, where they are able to challenge themselves.
Structured Storytime again is used to put any key words and themes into context, while also allowing the children to draw upon personal experience and express themselves in a safe environment. All our children transfer seamlessly from our Super Saplings room with our close liaison between the rooms and regular mixed grouped activities, ensuring a smooth and happy transition.

Within small classes, the children are able to work in a secure and stimulating learning environment, where the needs of every child are assessed and provided for. This is our pre-school classroom and letter and number recognition, reading and writing, addition and subtraction are all supported here. Our children are introduced to a reading scheme, phonics and have the opportunity to take advantage of home learning should they wish.

We strive to make the transition to school as smooth and stress-free as possible by working closely with parents every step of the way. Our goal is to ensure that children not only feel supported but also begin to develop the independence and confidence they need for school. We focus on equipping them with the essential skills, from social interaction to self-reliance, helping them adapt to the routines and expectations of school life with ease and enthusiasm. Through this collaborative approach, we aim to set a strong foundation for their future learning and success.
